Factory: The Project offers locals something different for New Year’s Eve with a Great Gatsby themed decadent party.
FANCY flappers and dapper lads will dress to impress in a Great Gatsbythemed decadent New Year’s Eve party at Maroochydore’s newest entertainment venue.
Factory: The Project staff will ring in 2014 with a lavish celebration complete with fire artists, circus performers, acrobats, musicians and burlesque dancers.
The timeless classic by F. Scott Fitzgerald, which tells of the extravagant parties of Jay Gatsby at the height of the New York jazz era, was the inspiration behind Factory: The Project’s first New Year’s Eve bash.
The Sunshine Plaza venue will have steam punk-themed Sensory Circus entertaining from 9pm alongside dazzling displays of aerial and silks work spinning from the roof plus fire artists in the downstairs amphitheatre.
Talented entertainers will work alongside gypsy punk trio No Strings Attached.
Upstairs burlesque dancers will bring a touch of Jay Gatsby’s life to the dance floor. DJs will mesh in the sounds of the jazz era into sets until 3am.
Owner Claire de Lune said the whole team was excited at such a unique creative offering for the Coast.
“Finally, there is a creative alternative here at Maroochydore for New Year’s Eve,” Ms de Lune said.
Tickets for the Great Gatsby night in the upstairs section are $60, which includes beer, wine, and canapes until 11pm. Doors open at 9pm.
Downstairs, entry to the “circus” will be free until 9pm.
